Getting sent to different offices??

Post by Sg9821 »

Hello there I'm a full time postman .. My manager always sends me to different offices which are like 8 to 15miles away from my home and only provide me with £5 travel fare and they expect me to get to the office in time.. The main thing is I don't get why I get sent all the time because there is always overtime at my office.. Can someone give me some advice please..

Travel to and from another office must be in THEIR time and at their expense, 45p a mile I think. :thumbup

Because they don't do taxis anymore, make it awkward for them to send you. Some will say, turn up at you're office, refuse to use own vehicle and insist other office returns you for you're finishing time. Depends on you're contract though. Speak to rep, unfair to keep sending same person.

Have deleted your office name from the quotes.
Your rep is R F yes, what has he said about it.
As what others have said you should 'start' at 'your' office at your start time, then move on to where you are being sent.
How long have you been in the job as well and what are your hours, are you on the 4 day week?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

45p per mile tax free if use own vehicle.
Can't be forced to use own vehicle so if in that case turn up at your own office at usual start time their responsibility to hey you to other office then the other offices responsibility to get you back to your office on your finish time.
It's is supposed to be sorted on a voluntary basis if possible if not a rota system should be used you cannot be sent against your wishes every time.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.
