National agreement lapsing of duties 1 in 10
Can someone please tell me what is the agreement for lapsing of duties (DO). Manager is saying for every 10 duties 1 should be lapsed. Is this someting which is agreed locally or is there a National agreement which outlines the percentage.

There is no national agreement that gives a figure, ratio, or percentage as to how much should be lapsed.
In essence the manager can lapse as many duties as they want, however OPGs should not be expected to go over their time as overtime is voluntary.
The rep and manager should discuss lapsing opportunities at the weekly SI meeting (I think that is what its known as), but it's not the reps fault if the manager wants to lapse 50% of the unit's duties.
If OPGs think the lapsing is excessive then there is really only 1 option, everyone works to the rules individually and use the Overrunning procedure if they believe they will exceed their scheduled hours (even if they do want the overtime),

Thank you for that. Some of these managers love playing with the semantics of the English language lol. I sometimes wonder if they're trying to convince themselves that's how it is
