Procedure for SD's on collections

Hi Everyone

I work in a collection hub inside a delivery office, I'm looking for some info on how Specials should be handed over from the collection drivers & kept until going on the feeders.

There is currently no system in place to keep a record of what is brought back into the hub & most of the day they arent secure.
This is the same story with the van keys which is a 'free for all' by delivery staff, often vans not signed out & returned late meaning collections depart late.
Overall the collection keys, van keys & SD's arent kept secure most of day - staff can walk in & out of the office all day.

Is there a set of rules for security of fleet / special's / collection keys that I can print & use?

It's probably in your interest to flag it up because if an SD of yours did go missing, then you could face undue blame.

Also under the operator's license all vehicle use has to be logged

O license doesn't affect anything under 3.5T so won't affect collections

The smaller vehicles still need to be signed in and out. If the auditors turned up the office would be for the high jump.
