Attending courses on days off.

So I've got a course coming up in the new year which rm paying for, as it is part of my training for a specific role within the business. However, I've spoken to someone about it over the weekend, and as the day in question is my scheduled day off, they reckon I'm entitled to be payed for it as I will be attending on my rest day. Is this correct? I also went for a test last week which was also my day off. If all is true should I request payment for the missed, and upcoming days in question?? Much obliged.

Yes you should be paid for being at the companies disposal during your rest day, bring it up immediately with your dom, to be paid accordingly. Merry Xmas

I agree, it is your day off, you either get paid overtime or you inform them you will be taking your day off. Training I thought has to happen during the company time, not yours.
