ok need definite answers going into meeting re resign
facts
due to complaints from senior men of over 20 years service being told they couldnt sign for specific duties due to them being on reserve duties
staff being placed on duties without seniority considerations or jobs advertised
we had cwu/office meeting re asking for resign
voted on resign with show of hands which resulted in majority decision to have resign
now being told by mgmt
we cant have full resign due to NO MAJOR CHANGE taken place since last resign
any person regardless of seniority can opt their duty out of a resign due to no major change taking place
we understand professional drivers and css operators etc would be exempt from resign as would any health priorities
we only want to sort out delivery duties on fair seniority levels
where do we stand on this

RE-SIGN
How many seniority lists are your office running within the resourcing unit. Do you have a seniority list for your delivery section, a seniority list for indoors and a seniority list for distribution section ( professional drivers) that would be your starting point. Find it hard that employees with over 20 years service are covering reserve duties? Certain duties would have to be made available for colleagues covered within the equality act 2010. Remember that allocation and re-picking of duties are based on allowances and length of time that this allowance has been held before seniority kicks in. But if by your post your resign is mainly to be fair to your delivery section then the majority would have the same start and finishing times and therefore seniority would be the foundation for selecting duties. You would also have to consider which staff took part in the show of hands requesting a resign as this as management states has not been the result of major change.
