6 month agreement
hi is it true that if you have worked 35 hours a week for six months you have the right to go this hours contract, I'm on a 24 hour contract at the moment?

No, but the hours of part-timers should be reviewed every 6 months if overtime is required to complete deliveries. However, this won't guarantee you getting the extra hours, it would normally be offered on a seniority basis.

2.7.7 The level of part time Employees’ contracted hours will be reviewed by the
Employer and the CWU locally on a six monthly basis. Where appropriate,
increased contracted hours will be offered to reflect the hours actually
worked and planned.

I'm going to put in a grievance for related matter.
I'm on 25 hour but been on full time duties for over 2 years. Spoke to someone from ACAS and they told me I have a case and a judge would find it hard to rule in favour of royal mails "voluntary overtime" rule.
If I have any luck I'll let you guys know

I do think the Agenda for Growth Agreement is somewhat misleading and needs too be seen alongside two other agreements and they are :
1 The filling of Vacancies agreement - Stoke Agreement and whether the job has enough workload too remain full time.
2. That the most senior part time person in the office has first option on being offered the opportunity to increase their contracted hours and no necessary the part time person who is working the additional hours.
Additionally the first thing to establish is what is the content of the additional hours which a part timer is working ? If it is against a duty which someone is on sick leave or annual leave than if this the case than the part timer is unlikely to be given an increase in contract as leave and sick leave is not recruited against other than standard reserves.
Equally if your office has vacancies and a part timer has been coming in to assist in prepping , IPS or working later to ensure the delivery is completed than again if Royal Mail recruit against those vacancies the question will be asked will there than be a requirement for the part time to work additional hours.
Additionally if a part time is currently covering a full time duty and has been for some time than there should have been a filling of vacancy discussion which could conclude that the full time duty is filled by the most senior part timer which will mean that the resulting part time vacancy will be need to be recurited too. Or it could result in the full time job being reduced in hours due too workload and than there will be no part time vacancy.
Than there is the part time duty holder who has too prep their own walk and than protracted their duty every day ! Providing the office is fully resourced than we should be able to offer the most senior part timer in the office this increase in hours. There is a huge problem here in that it may mean the part time duty holder who has been working additional hours for months may not only get that increase in hours they may have to come of the duty they signed for !
Than there are the rest day covers and reserve duties which are again complicated and depended on what additional hours a part timer works against !
The CWU have been successful in getting a lot of part timers made up ! However the above are what Royal Mail look at when dealing with reviews.

Thank you for that. My office has 18 full time duties vacant. I've worked 39 hours or over for the past 2 years and obviously don't get the full time holiday pay sick pay etc etc.
Main arguments are that if I decide to cut off after 5 hours I will be conducted.
They're relying on me to complete the full time duties.
I'm on the rota to cover full time duties every week and there are 2 in the office very rural which I'm the only reserve who knows them.
If you can think of any other arguments I can put it my letter I would appreciate it.
