retirement early

I have had enough.
Need advice,been with RM on delivery for over 18 years,only got six moths to go.
Duty getting harder and harder with them cutting my part time partners hours,is it possible to retire now,or is that classed as leaving, what would i lose.
Have asked for EVR and buy down, both refused.

Retiring doesn’t really exist as such anymore, it’s now a case of resigning and taking your pension.
If you’re 55 or older you can take your pension/s, but they will be reduced by 5% for each year you take them early.

So either stick it out for another 6 months or resign and take a 2.5% hit on your NRA65 pension.

As it will technically be a retirement he shouldn't lose them.

Though I do recommend any letter of resignation/retirement is crystal clear.

Can you ask for help eg. Tailored duty till retirement age due to you struggling a bit. Arent business obliged to help our aeging staff base. Cant union help out.

If ur not fit enough, go off sick, u can take 6 months full pay, if ur boss is ok and gets u to atos then u maybe to look at ill health retirement so keep ur shares pension would kick in straight away and walk away possibly with around £20k-£25k

If you're 60+ when you leave it's deemed to be retiring as far as the shares are concerned and you get to keep them.

super-postie, manager has even made my round bigger, more stairs,union rep trying his best, but up against it.
Scotland1,i have been off with stress, but its a small office,and my manager is not ok,
Hate being off,asked,well conjolled to going back,but will retire soon.

Its a sad state of affairs. Business has all these policies, talk a good game but do nothing to help. I agree, if its unbearable then sick absence eith atos involvement may be the answer. How about contacting Moya.
