its every excuse in the book from these managers about early finishes on Saturday's, they are even trying to introduce a missort run, so they can keep us in until gone 900am, our rep hasn't a clue whats going on, they seem to change this s**t agreement on an hourly basis ,we had a letter from the union stating that Saturday's would be unchanged ,now they are telling us its a normal 615 start, and if you don't like it you know what you can do attitude ,we are going to get well shafted by these so called local agreements ,i can see it coming ,there are a lot of people in our office totally pissed off with this lot ,
vote no and tell the union this deal is just shite

Our rep pushed forward the later starts (05.00 to 06.30) in October 2006. He's there because no one else will do the job. I know, because I was the rep for seven years before him and no one else put their name forward. He's one of the most self-interested men I've ever met and his former 'comrades' in the Labour Party would say the same if they posted on here.drb wrote:Your Rep is just your mouthpiece. He won't know till you tell him. Then he'll learn.
He is no magician. His role is purely voluntary. No extra money.Help him and tell him that he has

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If this shoddy deal does go through we've no chance of getting our normal saturday times back. We were told it would be dowb to local agreement, but also it would have to be workable with the other office supplying us. If they don't want normal saturday times, then we can't either, regardless of if we do or don't.
And no doubt it'll all roll backwards from there too. If SEAMAC want their normal saturday times back they'll have to rely on someone else to agree to them too before they can have them. And what's the betting somewhere along the line royal mule get their way and shaft everyone.
This isn't even a deal, as a deal would indicate something was in it for both sides. This is just a festering pile of rotting dog poo!

I know its hard but why do you think they would want you back at a 5am start not because it benefits you although for football and doing stuff it does.
No the reason they might allow a 5am start only on a saturday is because they can see how hard it will be to get anyone to stay on and do overtime as you wont be getting home till well into the afternoon and who wants that and what manager is gonna wanna take a walk out on a saturday.
I know its probably cutting me nose to spite me face but why let them change what they want to suit theyre ends no they brought this in let it stay un less of course they want to put mon-fri back to a 5am start.
Give and take means just that but i only see taking and well not much giving well they give you plenty of cr.p does that count....

I know what I'll do if ever I've got something planned for a Saturday since these later starts came in. And since I've got a good attendance record, I'll get away with it too.oxboy wrote:I know its hard but why do you think they would want you back at a 5am start not because it benefits you although for football and doing stuff it does.

There's what might be called a split decision in our office, some want a return to the old times and some would rather have a lie in. The agreement if it did come in clearly states that Saturdays would revert back to the original time, and if RM refused then it would be in breech of the agreement and you could, in theory at least revert back to IA.
To me though there is a simple solution; why should everyone start and finish at the same time? In our office the starts are between 5 and 9 during the week and Saturday. The overriding factor is getting the mail in sufficient quantity and in time for sorting by various starts - there is no hub run on Saturday so missorts are irrelevant. Those starting at 9 haven't finished throwing off before the 6, 6.15 and 6.30 starts have prepared their delivery consequently any missorted mail has "missed"

Another point then on saturdays as postpeoples hours have been absolutely torn to shreds would it not be completely acceptible to have managers stagger theyre hours now.
I mean surely there should be a manager when the first postie comes in and the last finishes his her delivery.
we have new starters that prob wont complete will come back on a saturday late with mail or even specials not knowing what to do.
And in true mamgers fashion they will pass the buck onto the new trainer what a laugh.
