Part of someone else's duty moved onto mine

Post by StephenBatey »

I'm looking for some advice, I was recently informed that part of someone else's duty would become part of mine with immediate effect, the person in question just happens to be our union representative. Isn't there certain procedures that need to be followed before decided such a thing, especially when the person in question is back at the office before their time comfortably as a result of this change. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Think you need to speak to your local rep, have heard of this practise in other offices, think the official term used is "shafted"

I guess you could argue it was victimisation as no one else got any extra? If you finish early on your current round size though, not a lot you can do about it. If it takes you over bring it back, other than that ya kinda jiggered!

Several other duties in the office should be adapting the same changes but it doesn't seem to be happening. I also have it in black and white from my atos referral that my workload should be monitored as I suffer from mental health illness. Do I have a case here to fight it further?

Not if other walks are being adapted. But if you have mental health issues and it is affecting you then you should express your concerns with your doctor and if he agrees insist on getting Atos involved further.

The only walk that seems to be getting changed is mine, maybe it's to do with myself and the guy I share a van with being both part timers. Most full timers in there wouldn't entertain what the management are asking us to do.

As always, you have a start and finish time and what you do between those times is up to your manager, however If you work at a reasonable pace and don't want the overtime use correct procedure for cutting off.

As above. Show them it can't be done within your time and they will have to move the extra elsewhere. s**t rolls downhill. Stand your ground [with union help]. I'm lucky as I've only about another 8 years to do and am in a reasonably good financial position so don't give two sexual encounters, lots of people aren't and this is what managers rely on to shaft people. Good luck
