Attendance procedure question

Post by midvillain »

Hi. Can someone clarify the last sentence where it says "1 absence of 4 days or less will mean removal from the procedure." Call me stupid, but somehow it doesn't make sense to me, and if asked, I wouldn't be able to explain. Thanks

MINIMUM NATIONAL ATTENDANCE STANDARDS - EMPLOYEES NOT ON TRIAL

Employees who have successfully completed their trial period are still required to
maintain a high standard of attendance. Attendance may be regarded as
warranting formal action if an employee who is not on trial has:

Stage 1: 4 absences or 14 days in a 12 month period

Stage 2: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months

Stage 3: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months

1 absence of 4 days or less will mean removal from the procedure.

If your on a stage 2 and have no more than 1 absence or 4 days then you come off the procedure completely rather than dropping to a stage 1

Applying the attendance standards

Employees on 2nd review who do better than the standard required with no more than 1 absence of 4 days or less will come off the formal procedure.
Employees on 2nd review who otherwise meet the standard revert to 1st review.
Employees who do not meet the standard on 2nd review may be considered for dismissal.

If they are not dismissed, they may be issued with a new Review 2.
