childcare and flexible hours

Hi I'm due to go back to work next Monday. I've my two girls in a childcare centre and I've had to book them in for the 5 days Mon to Fri. As we work days off on rotation. Which means I'm paying for them to be in care if I'm off a day through the week and also if I work Saturdays I've to pay that person as well. The childcare won't allow rotation as they need set days to accommodate all the children. My question is has anyone here asked to work a Monday to Friday week and got it.

Yes there are people who have monday to Friday duties or fixed days off, you have the statutory right to ask for it but unfortunately no statutory right to get them, it's all down to your local office unfortunately, the bigger the better chance but if it's a small do then usually won't get it

it's also worth reading up on parental leave etc to know your rights and what you are entitled to

As I understand it if you ask for flexible working your employer has to consider it but have the right to say no if they can not accommodate your request. Maybe coming up with a viable proposal may help ur cause but RM can always say Operational Needs. But if you don't ask u don't get
