9 months on still, waiting on holiday pay

Post by Pearl4 »

After 2 years working for Royal Mail I left in June 2015 due to IHR, I was told at the final meeting (with area DOM and union rep) it would take 6 weeks to get my final payment (PILON) etc and payment for the holidays I was unable to take because I was on sick leave. It was agreed that I would get the full holiday entitlement which would be 'carried over'. I have been chasing the payments for some time now, managers are either responding with far fetched answers or completely ignoring me. HR emailed the manager at my old office and still no one responded. My former union rep told me he COULDN'T help me anymore as I was no longer a member of the union............... One manager emailed me to ask how much holiday I thought I was due, excuse me, don't these people keep a record of who has or has not taken a holiday and how much holiday entitlement posties are entitled to based on the length of service? I am thinking of taking the matter to the small claims court. I would welcome any help with regards to this dilemma.

how much was untaken in 2014/2015 leave year?
how much was untaken from 2015/2016 leave year?

I didn't take any holiday in 2015, so my full holiday entitlement should still be intact, and they know that.

If you left in June 2015 then I am sorry but you wouldn't be entitled to a full leave year of holidays. You would have only accrued roughly 7 to 8 days.

If they haven't paid you this then as a last resort I'd email moya.

Thanks True Blue, I think there was holidays owing from 2014, which the manager who said he knew nothing about disputed.............. There seems to be no records of my entitlement or how much holiday I took during my employment. I had my hoilday cancelled in 2014 by the manager because he said there were too many on holiday on those dates.

Leave from 2014 - I think an email to moya will "help" them remember. :chuckle :chuckle

our holiday year is from start of april to end of march, not in full years, so

exactly how much leave did you have untaken from april 2014 to march 2015
and then exactly untaken from april 2015 till june 2015 when you left?

if you dont know how much you had left then post the amount of annual leave you did take between those dates
