Would you be able to start such a case for the following?
For a while now I have got grief because I can't work over my time. Childcare commitments and such. This has resulted in me being moved for Xmas to a different DO, to then be moved back after 2 weeks. Now been told my hours have changed so I finish an hour later, which would affect the school run. After telling them I can't do that, I had to answer questions about my child's school, finish time and other members of family availability to pick up. Since I moved back to normal DO, there is also 'no need' for me to be in early, and as a reserve on a 30 contract those hours are obviously essential going into Xmas. Have got no joy from 3 managers, and DOM won't even look or talk to me. Can't help but think it all stems from me 'not playing the game' and staying out to complete. Any help appreciated.

Re: Bullying or Harassment?
At face value no there is nothing that would be considered B&H, except maybe the early starts if you are the only they have cancelled and thats probably more of a grievance matter than anything else,
My advice from now on is to take 2 things into any meeting with management, 1 - A rep 2. A notebook. Depending on the interview RM may refuse your request for a rep to be in attendance, but they can't stop you making notes. If they do refuse either then respectfully ask for an explanation of the reasons for the interview, then ask for a chance to contact your rep and get advice.
The advice you're looking for at first is can they refuse the rep being in attendance, in some cases they can but don't rely on the managers informing you correctly.

Re: Bullying or Harassment?
Are you being treated differently to those on the same contract? if so you could put a grievance in about all those mangers as bullying is about not being treated the same as everyone else.

Re: Bullying or Harassment?
They claimed that a few other reserves were being asked not to come in until their start times, but the majority will be in same time as full timers.
I feel like I'm being treated differently because I won't work over. And the questions I had to answer regarding my child and school were ridiculous.

If they can prove that then the grievance won't go farCobblers_3 wrote:They claimed that a few other reserves were being asked not to come in until their start times, but the majority will be in same time as full timers.
You are, the problem is proving it so start making notes and use the rep as suggested aboveCobblers_3 wrote:I feel like I'm being treated differently because I won't work over.
They probably were, but they are entitled to ask questions if you reject a change to your contract. If could also be made to seem as though they done the best they can by you if after the interview they rescinded the change.Cobblers_3 wrote:And the questions I had to answer regarding my child and school were ridiculous.
I am not saying I agree with what they did, tried to do, and are doing, but I am trying to show how they will present their side and what you need to do "going forward".

The reserves that were asked not to come in early, do they also refuse to work over, or have "performance" issues, which is normally much the same thing with many managers. That could be a question for the rep to ask.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:If they can prove that then the grievance won't go farCobblers_3 wrote:They claimed that a few other reserves were being asked not to come in until their start times, but the majority will be in same time as full timers.

im not sure, but the reserves who seem to be in early are the ones who do all the overtime and mop up walks.

Re: Bullying or Harassment?
Well if I was you and you do feel aggrieved by the way they treat you why not put a grievance in it seams you ruffle the feathers above you because of your circumstances and yet this family friendly firm will not accommodate reasonable requests in good time yet those who can will do as they want. The choice at the end of the day is yours but while those above and below you feather their nests you will be for ever be juggling the equation of family friendly and compliant.

Re: Bullying or Harassment?
It's sound advice thank you. But a grievance seems like it will just hurt me more. If they want me in early I would do it, I won't cut my nose off to spite my face but the feeling isn't mutual with them!

You don't need an excuse to cut off and not work over just inform dom at a reasonable time

No one has any right to question you regarding your childcare arrangements or anything else. If you can't work past your finish time that is your business and you do not have to explain to anyone. If you are being treated differently because of this it is discrimination and you should speak to your union rep.
