What I want from the CWU
At the next round of negotiations all I want is overtime to be changed.
For my basic pay I get just over £10 per hour less tax and NI.
For overtime I get just under my basic pay less 20% tax and NI with no pension contribution and no breaks (5 in every 60 mins) which equates to significantly less than my basic rate.
There is a big incentive for RM to employ on contracts below the expected work load and pressure people into overtime.
I think we should take home at least the same rate after everything is taken into account for overtime or preferably slightly more to discourage RM from an overtime based standard work model and into an overtime for exceptional circumstances approach.

At best a pay freeze for the next 3 to 5 years will bring things back in to alignment and allow RM to compete more efficiently.

Thats why come in half hour early and never book overtime when I run over. The job needs doing so I do it for a fair weeks pay.

He comes in early, and goes over. He's not a manager.

In another thread he disparages someone as a "typical postman". Whatever he is, I doubt it involves parking and loops. Unless you include his local dogging site.BarnsleyLackey wrote:bustedflush wrote:Which office are you a manager at?

The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Go check what our competitors are paying their people.
People like you need to pull your finger out and just get the job done without bitching about running over a few minutes when you finish early every Tuesday.
