Attendance Review question

Hi,

I started at Royal Mail in December 2014, I had 3 weeks off work in during my 6-month trial which prompted an attendance review which resulted in a warning not being given because my reason for being off was justified. I finished my trial in June this year.

On Monday, I had minor surgury to remove a cyst from my cheek. I first went to the doctor about this cyst in January and made my manager aware that I would likely have to take the day after the surgury off work as advised by the consultant at the hospital who said that the stitches would be able to withstand heavy lifting. However, the surgeon said that he would advise against returning to work as heavy lifting may harm the stitches and healing process. The surgeon wrote an unfit for work note for seven days which means I'm due to return to work next Monday, pending a wound check at a local health centre tomorrow.

I've read in the CWU Attendance Agreement (page 17) that for all employees (except triallists) 4 absenses or 14 days in a 12 month period will prompt an attendance review - however, as I've already had an attendance review as a triallist, should I expect another review when I return to work, or after the six month trial, is the slate wiped clean, so to speak?

Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this?
