Bank holiday pay

Anyone got the money for there bank holiday day off this week. Told by rep and area rep that Royal Mail have now stopped it and you have to have a day in lieu

Not stopped that I know of, think you may be getting told a few lies. It's in agreements, they can't just stop it without an overriding agreement.

Your manager should give you the option as either A Day in Lieu or the equivalent in wages for the hours you would have worked as Overtime on that Monday.

That is just ridiculous!

All they need to do is go into the PSP system go back a few weeks and add your hours at Pressure rate or belate it in this weeks. Very simple!

Thank you for your email to Moya’s Just Say It site. I am part of this team and have been asked to reply.

Our rules on bank holidays have been around for years and have not changed. What should happen is that, when a bank holiday falls on someone’s rest day, they should be given another day off that week. If that is not operationally sensible or is impracticable the people involved can have a day added to their holiday allocation or claim the hours as normal weekday overtime.

The benefit of our bank holidays is that they give everyone additional time off so when someone does not take their bank holiday due to it coinciding with their rest day the norm should be to try to give them another day off. Where that is impossible they can take the time as normal overtime, but of course this would not give them time off which was the intention of the bank holiday.

I have been told I have to now work bank holidays that fall on Mondays .my night shift starts 11pm Monday night and finishes 6.48am Tuesday morning because the majority of my shift is on Tuesday so it's classed as a Tuesday so my bank holiday is a rest day and have to pick an alternative day off or pay.ps our Sunday SAs are bump to bank holiday Monday and all lorry runs are Sunday times as well. So is it Sunday Monday or Tuesday ?

On them Monday nights they'll probably have you start at midnight as the Bank Holiday will be over

The way I see it is I usually work work Monday nights and have to go to bed sometime in the day so it can't be a rest day.my Monday night shift finishes on Tuesday but is still Monday night shift.my Tuesday night starts 11pm.

If Iwas on days when a bank holiday falls on a Monday I would be able to go to bed Saturday,Sunday night and Monday night and return to work Tuesday .So it seems only right nights should have a complete night off.my rest nights are Saturday and Sunday .i'm on a5 nighter.
