Help with attendance procedure - again!
I have a situation where I went for a stage one meeting on Friday, next day I was given the notes back to check, and told that I would find out the decision in two weeks time when the manager gets back from leave. Is that right? I thought he would tell me straight away

There is no deadline for the issuing of stages after a review meeting in the agreement. It merely says following. In principle it has to be a reasonable amount of time, that in itself is a relative viewpoint, but I doubt that an ET would find it excessive

Outcome of the meeting
Following the meeting the manager should
decide whether to issue a formal notification
or not. The manager should tell the employee
their decision face to face, confirm the decision
in writing and remind them of the standard
expected in future.
Each case should be treated on its merits,
and any mitigating factors the employee has
raised in relation to their attendance record
must be taken into account, along with
their previous attendance record and overall
attendance performance. The manager must
provide a rationale for their decision and
should capture any actions agreed.

How I miss the management 'let the bastart stew' routine. Mental cruelty. Not bullying though.midvillain wrote:I have a situation where I went for a stage one meeting on Friday, next day I was given the notes back to check, and told that I would find out the decision in two weeks time when the manager gets back from leave. It is a bit harsh. Must be a tough decision for him to make. Maybe he'll forget. Thanks, anywat

You have to wait for a decision to make it look as though they have considered it. A stage warning is automatic in practice from my experience.
