I have recently been offered voluntary redundancy from royal mail which is due to go through on the 24th of April I have received a massive pack of legal documents which have to be signed by me and a solicitor.With the two bank holidays it looks as though i wont meet the 14 day deadline for acceptance ie sending back my question is are royal mail very strict about deadline or as long as it goes through before 24th april is that ok.

You have virtually been given 3 weeks to have the documents signed which would be sufficient time for signatures.
You must like the place others would have had them retuned within hours in fear of them changing their minds

No cant wait to get out lol its just that said 14 days on pack and solicitor doesnt seem to be in any hurry it is a solicitor recommended by royal mail and all done over phone waiting for him to call been a week now.If no joy on tuesday gonna see local solicitor to rush it through.

I'm in the same boat my last day of service is 30th of April I've not had papers to sign yet time running out before I leave lol

Been told my last day will be 25th of April. Been given a print out of my offer but still no sign of any paper work.

37 years in the job and nothing has changed, kept in the dark till the last possible moment.

Please don't worry, the solicitor stuff is easy. You will need to send a copy to them by special delivery, they then give you a phone consultancy and send it back to you by special delivery. All you need to do then is sign your part of the agreement and return it in the addressed envelope that comes in the original pack. My last day is 18th April, and I like you can't wait to go. I have done 31 years and am 49. All I need to do now is find a job that I WANT to do.

I only got my VR offer letter 11 days before I had to return the signed copy. You could try ringing the HR Services at Chesterfield to ask what is happening. Their tel no is/was 0845 6060603.

Got the letter through this morning. It doesn't have the pension choice I wanted on it, I'll ring the number on monday see if I have to have the one printed on it or do I still have 3 choices.

I rang hr they said choices of pension ie lump sum etc come after you have signed all paperwork etc.

Yeah they said same to me. Rang the solicitors monday gave them all my info they said they would ring back. Still waiting.

Wasn't offered redundancy in the first wave but someone dropped out and I'm now
In line is there a cut off point or not ? Not even my manager seems to know anything is it too late??

on my paper work it said 14 days. Suposed to be getting phone call back from solicitors tomorrow then they send my paper work back to me I sign and send it back to HR.

Paper work needs to be done by the 24th last day will be 30th.
