temp staff being finnished

Post by alan696 »

Hi im on a full time temp contract been employed with royal mail for 21 months working with in logistics (voc) as an opg i have been told due to the transformation of the business my services are no longer needed i have ask why have EVR not been offered to anyone when EVRs are being offered to mail centre staff before temp staff getting finnish in mail centre i hve been told different department diffrent rules is this correct ?i asked about weekend work which is covered by overtime at moment as part time been told no as logistics (traffic office) is classed as needing a manger in to cover the job when i have worked the weekends and i know other opg's work the weekends in the traffic office were do i stand on that? I have asked about getting transfered to the mail centre which who are offering EVRs at the moment i have been very unlikely due to the EVRs being offered within the mail centre so i have asked what about agency works working with in the mail centre should thier hours not be getting reduced before i get finnished the reason i asked that was because in my induction the person whom took induction inform us royal mail would reduce agency staff hours before letting ģo of anyone employed by royal mail
Any help would be great thanks

Can you clarify what you mean by full time temp. Do you get a 3 month contract every 3 month, is that what you mean. Theirs quite a few opg in my MC who have been their for years on these 3 month contracts and they have seniority numbers and everything. I assumed the VR process would apply.

they can't offer VR and employ at the same time.
The MC is overstaffed ie VR's i cant see why they would take someone on to offer another VR
As your contract is temp you wont be offered VR your contract would just expire, what has the rep said?

Keep exploring your options and good luck.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP

Deleted 2 threads that had exactly the same first post but no responses.

Although colleagues and members want a quick reply to their questions, and this is entirely understandable, experience has shown that if you have too many threads then the solutions/answers provided by well meaning posters becomes contradictory and confusing. Therefore we would suggest starting only 1 topic per subject.

While we're on this just a quick reminder. Anyone can start a brand new thread, anywhere on RMC, but we would ask that members do a quick search to see if there is a similar recent thread. This is so that we don't tire out the prolific and/or helpful posters who can get frustrated by the same questions being repeated over and over again and sometimes within a few hours.

Ask Admin is questions about RMC only, not Royal Mail or CWU.

Google can actually do a site search of RMC https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site: ... %2F+&cad=h" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - just add your search terms at the end without deleting the site:www.royalmailchat.co.uk/community/ I personally highly recommend using it before starting a new thread, its how I answer some of the questions as well.
