After seeing my team dumped out of the FA cup I cheered myself up to have a look at the same old moaners on this site. Depressing isn't the word. If it's not 'linos' making them miserable then it's the union fault. Have a look at this jobs pay and conditions ten years ago and look now. It's clear most posters on here are glass half empty people, have a look around at other workers conditions and then consider what a good job the CWU has done.

Nice to see some of the big teams get humped. They seem to think they have the right to win just because.

As for your other points, it's better we sound off on here than go into the office and go postal, isn't it.

I have similar to you where there are no major problems in my office and I am on a 4 day week but I work my hrs most of the time,and job and finish is still here.

In at 6 30, throw off mech boxs, ips 7 till 7 40. Prep etc till 8 45. Out on delivery 9 20. First letter 9 50. Done by 12 30 at the latest, and thats because our rep got us a great deal under bt2010. I get a 4 day week every few weeks and its the same for everyone in our office. Im sick of the people moaning about their heavy workload etc. Just say no.

But that doesn't stop me running this forum for those who are not as lucky as us.

I thought Ferguson had retired? The reason for my post was after reading the debate over the forthcoming General Secretary election. One thing we do need is a big turn out, it's no good just putting complaints on the forum. I'm sure there's plenty of branch AGMs coming up that will be poorly attended when it's a chance for members to get the oppertunity to have their say. When I read that turnout could be low because people are apathetic to the future course of our union I do find it frustrating. There are major battles ahead one of which is with the regulator, it's the CWU that's in the forefront of that fight with Ofcom. Postman, you are right the forum is a valuable medium for debate,but constantly having a go at the CWU is unfair in my opinion.

Well every year we earn less and conditions are made harder but yes compared to other jobs we still have it very easy.

I am toying with the idea of running a small business on the side and let me tell you to earn what we earn being self employed is very very hard these days.
No holiday pay no sick pay no uniform no tea breaks etc.

If you really are busy thinking about earning your living you haven't got time to moan you have to be positive.
If you work for a company where your whole day is planned out for you and you don't have to think too much about getting paid etc
then moaning becomes part of your daily routine or so it seems to me.

Nothing really wrong with moaning it's only words after all, it's not really hurting anyone.
In my experience of over twenty years of service the Royal mail has always been a moaning environment.
Moaning and bitching about other people, it's what has always consumed most of the day.
