Post by Jambomatt1874 »

What happened to the new incentive/bonus scheme that was meant to be part of the last agreement? Not a word been mentioned again!

I think if we make a profit we will be paid a bonus. There is a target but I can't remember what it is. Payable in June

The issue of incentive schemes is complex. Due to a decline in traffic in some areas as a result of amazon going elsewhere , whistl doing their own work , banks encouraging on line bills rather than sending them out , some areas are less productive than they were following their transformation revision which paid up to £1000.

Royal Mail therefore do not want to pay more money to simply get the same productivity as the transformation revision agreed. They argue that they would have paid twice to get to the same productivity.

This is why a make shift profit share scheme has been agreed.

However further talks have been agreed to take place on incentive arrangements beyond April 2015 including consideration of more focused and tailored incentive arrangements that support the future of the business. The aim will be to conclude these discussions in March 2015.

The issue of course is that some offices are more productive than others for a number of reasons such as they have more mail to big posters , they have more part timers , they have carved the job up by starting early . Equally some areas have more tracked or priority service items which take more time to gun in and out and too deliver meaning more hours. For example 20% of the whole of the UKs priority service items are delivered out the Mount Pleasant Office yet as delivery offices do not operate on a profit basis they are deemed in efficient but generate a huge profit for Royal Mail.

It is therefore very difficult to agree a fair productivity scheme as in the past you get a share of the hours saved in your office , if you have no hours to save but are more efficient you receive nothing. Whereas if you are less efficient and you can save some hours then you get an incentive bonus ! Is that fair ? But that is an incentive scheme.

I wish they would stop this smokescreen of mail volumes falling. Royal mail cant even get a daily forecast correct as happened in our office over the past month or so.

to right we haven't got a clue whats coming in on a day even the dom hasn't got a clue so how can they predict what will be happening weeks , months , years down the line , its just another load of bullshit to keep everybody quiet as usual.

If it is as bad as they make out and there is no money for us, how come the lino's still get massive payments as bonuses?

given that we voted it in and HQ have failed to deliver difficult subject or not with both parties filibustering at our expense, where could we go.
Does this agreement have legal protections or not.
They are clever people and knew the subject was difficult yet failure to deliver reigns supreme.
Can i now not do what i've agreed to do???????

taken from the agenda and all that legal lovvies agreement
 Reward
To introduce new incentive arrangements by April 2014 that reflect and re-enforce the delivery
of the growth agenda whilst incentivising employees to give of their best.

When dingo starts an explanation with "it's a complex issue" he means the ordinary member is too dull to understand they are being short changed. :cuppa

Is this similar to the phantom shares fiasco , in which certain staff members trousered a grand plus each but not the rest of us . There was supposed to be an investigation regarding this not?
