Day of falls on new years day.

Post by gand »

So my day of this week falls on new years day. And as I had no leave left I thought I would book the Saturday off which I did at the start of last week. And today i got my sheet back saying the book was closed and I could not have it off. How is this fair so everyone else gets 2 days off this week and I only get 1. So basically they are refusing my day off this week as when I tried to use the day I got back from new years day I was refused! And to make matters worse just the day before wee were told the book was open for this year's leave!

Just ask to see where there are vacant leave slots and book one of them . Sat off are in high demand so more often than not they refused when requested.

The point is why should I be penalised this week and only get one day off while others get 2. It's great saying you get a day back but then when you try to book said day for another day in the year you may not get that day. I want it This week like everyone else!

I deleted it because I knew that it might offend people, you know the me,me, life is so unfair,I'm entitled to something brigade of which I must say I was also in error of saying that 85% of people in our office are,it is in effect more likely to be 95%. :Very Happy :nana
I didn't say every Saturday off as you well know,I said that you tried to book THIS Saturday off just giving them a weeks notice at the busiest time of year for the clamour of leave to be taken,Your day off just happens to fall on a Bank Holiday it s**t and tough luck but life is like that sometimes, like Teebs last week my day off fell on a Bank holiday I was offered a day off,if there was any vacant spots I would have been able to book the Saturday off and have a nice long long weekend off... but the spots where all full up ,I then took the extra money instead as I already am owed loads of days.

Sometimes s**t happens,I'm sure your rep has explained how resourcing works or does he treat you all as cannon fodder like myself. :whistle :wave

Yes he does treat most of us like he is some kind of royal mail manager as he has forgotten what a union rep is there to do which is to help it's members. Maybe you should take a long look at your silly little signature you put at the end of your posts as that is what you and most reps have become. :cuppa

Should we be getting the OT from these days in this weeks pay packet tomorrow? I mean from Christmas week.

Depends when they put it onto PSP as the cut off date for changes to pay differ over the holiday period. However, if not in this week it should be in the first pay week of Jan 2015

...and what happens if your office thinks it's different to everywhere else and doesn't acknowledge that you are entitled to the overtime payment option?

Glad I started this post because when I asked for my payment instead off luie they tried to fob me off with there is no payment just the day back. After getting the rep involved i got the payment. But for a long time now magement have not been telling people they are entitled to payment instead off a day luie. Anyone got the agreement as to what happens when your day off falls on a bank holiday as a lot of staff do not no about it?
