where stand with ohs and work

Hello all and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I have been of work since October with multiple cervical bulging discs in neck.
Told line manager I got to see a specialist in February.
I had a phone call today stating I have an appointment in Jan to see ohs.will be about
3hours checking strength and other stuff.I am concerned now that might get more damage or injure myself
On light duties if told I can do light duties .Then see specialist in feb and they says I cant do light duty.Also if go
back on light duties and get worse then of again will that count as a reoccurrent or another stage of sickness.can my Dr override the ohs till seen specialist or do I do what ever the ohs says.

Hi, don't think they've made it clear for you, oh assist are the people that will phone you when your off sick to see how you are/what your symptoms are/what your doctor says etc the then report back to royal mail. I think you've been referred to a company called Rehabworks that royal mail amongst others use, Rehabworks are an independent physiotherapy company that firms use to get their staff off sick and back to work,they're actually very good, you go for an initial assessment which is what I suspect they're doing to you, then if they deem you suitable they arrange a rehab plan which will entail a fazed return to work in conjunction with probably 6 more weekly visits to the Rehabworks premises.

That is a great worry of my mind .I thought it was a way of getting me back to work no matter how.
It just seemed funny I tell them I got to see specialist in Feb then I get the call saying I am being assessed in Jan.which I
Don't mind as nothing to hide.just don't want to be forced back into work if could do more damage before I see my specialist

It isn't funny, it's not allowed…

Your Manager cannot refer you to OHS without your permission; politely decline this January appointment and put a grievance in against the Manager.

in name only.
the one i went to were based in a royal mail building.

if they dont tow the line etc............so you have to learn to play the game.
