Christmas bonus?

Post by Teampc »

Hi
My husband is a postman, we all came down with sickness beginning of the month and so he had to have a couple of days off as he physically couldn't work for being constantly sick and doc told us to stay home so as not to spread it more

He has just text me to say he's been told he won't get any of the December/Xmas bonus because he was ill

I've been trying to look it up online but not finding much so thought I'd ask in here, can you tell me if its true that he isn't entitled to it because of being ill? (Was only a few days so was just standard sick days with normal pay if that makes any difference)
I've seen something that suggests you just get a little less based on how long your off for, but it also seems to suggest that's only if your being paid a reduced sick pay? So I'm a bit confused

Anyone that can tell me clearly what the 'rules' are for being eligible will be very helpful :)

Kinda the feeling up and down the country

Zero motivation, your fella did the right thing taking time off to recover.

The Xmas bonus is used as a stick not a carrot.

I'm almost certain you have to be on reduced wages is six months into sick pay for bonus to be affected.

To be 100% if he's in the union get him to call the branch. :thumbup

Hi, yes he will definitely get his bonus, his manager is a lying b***ard as most are, they're just trying to scare posties off having sick days in December.

The only time you don't qualify is if you're not on full pay ie if you've been off sick for over 6 months etc.
