half day sick!!
could not complete duty on saturday because of sciatic pain in leg. I had the following week already booked off as holiday. Manager phoned to tell me the saturday would be counted as a sick day which would put me on a first stage warning, so it would make sense to have this week as sickness as well. confused!!!!!!

Re: half day sick!!
I am also confused with your posting as unsure which Saturday you are referring to and if your holiday booked is the start of this week as you have not had the number of days absent to warrant a first stage warning.burry wrote:could not complete duty on saturday because of sciatic pain in leg. In relation to the Saturday that you part worked this is not recorded as a sick absence unless you have part days off on a regular basis.
If your holiday was this week then I assume that you have notified your manager that you are now no longer sick and are to continue on your annual leave then cannot see how manger can place you on a first stage warning

Re: half day sick!!
If Saturday was the day that would trigger the stage warning he is probably best to have the week an get the holiday credited back. You cant be sick and on holiday at the same time.
Of course you are then risking not being ill and the extra days not contributing to further stages.
I thought that half days aren't counted though?

Page 5 - Part day absences will not normally be
considered. If the number of part day
absences has become excessive, the matter
will be discussed with the employee in line
with the principles of this procedure. Further
part day absences may be counted against
the attendance standards, following written
notice in advance
Its the same for CMA grades

Re: half day sick!!
See above. It's a part day absence and as long as you haven't had loads of them previous this one will be on your sick record but certainly won't trigger a prompt. Get your rep on the case. Easy one this one.
