Do you wear a Royal Mail uniform in your job? Do you have any problems you want to flag up, suggestions to how this could be improved or other comments on your workwear?

If so, CWU assistant secretary Bob Gibson wants to hear from you.

Bob explains: "We are about to begin dialogue with Royal Mail nationally on all matters concerning uniforms and in particular its suitability for the role our members carry out.

"Therefore before we enter into these discussions with the business we would welcome comments and feedback from members on any aspect of the uniform whether they be good or bad, so they can be picked up in the forthcoming discussions.

"So please send in your uniform-related comments, thoughts and views either through your branch, unit or area CWU representatives to HQ by Friday 7th November."

None of it is fit for purpose,better quality gear and probably less expensive equipment could be bought from the army and navy

And the shirts made by Ben Sherman. Quality gear that lasted ages.

The blue shirts we have now are ill fitting almost blouse like, with collars that are too big and flap about.

You just get wet from sweat instead of rain with the one I have, it's useless!

I've seen loads of uniform come and go and the staff always moan about it and hark back to the old days.
Truth is for choice and suitability this isn't a bad uniform really. The quality could be better though and I wouldn't mind RM socks....sick of wearing through socks in this job.

A lightweight waterproof is desperately needed for delivery staff,and another one here for decent socks,Cat boots are excellent as are Cat shoes IMHO,the trainers are terrible and cause a lot of foot problems,shorts are ok but too long,the belt is good,could do with a sweatshirt for winter.

Cant agree Fish delivery staff look like meter readers out on the streets,
the quality is very poor but if you buy cheap you buy twice,as for harking
back to the "old" bring back the thermal jacket with the datachable sleeves
i say,still one or two being used in our MC.
