Working Notice

A Postie in our office 14yrs service , Went to management to give 2 weeks notice to leave and management said he has to give 3 months . What is the currant status on this

Also does he lose the sahres

he only needs to give 1 weeks notice

and yes he will lose the shares AFAIK

Yes - he won't get shares as you only get them on retirement, redundancy or death.

The 3 months they are quoting is the notice RM have to give him if they wish to terminate his contract (14.1) we give 1 week notice (14.2)

Also 1 week is what the Government say

You must give your employer 1 week’s notice if you want to leave your job and you’ve worked for them for 1 month or more.

Thankyou , As always RM trying it on , It seems RM Management cannot even read there own Notice properly
I did say to the person I am sure it is only a week , really stressed the guy out as he had another job to start

I reach 65 in early March next year and want to retire 4 weeks later ( at the end of the financial year ) to avoid any hassle with Tax rebates etc, will I still qualify for the shares ?
