Auction cancelled

Post by polar bear »

About two or three years ago our office had an auction. I picked a duty that was part time.
Because someone who was full time did not get certain duty because of their physical ability the DOM told everyone that the auction was cancelled and there would be another in auction in a few weeks when the said person had their duty ring fenced so no one could pick it. The said person who does have health problems did go to atos and get his duty. But there was never another auction and although I picked a duty in the auction I wasn't allowed on it. The worse thing was my duty was part time and the kerfuffle with the person with the health problems was full time. I really suspect that the manager just wanted certain people on certain duties.
Can anyone one please tell me, am I entitled to the duty I picked in the auction two years ago but never got on.

I forgot to add the part time worker that is on the duty I picked has at least three years LESS service than me.

PB,
By 'auction' I presume that you mean 'repick' and that no increasing sums of money were being offered to the DOM !
Appropriate adjustments must be made for health problems recognised as a disability by ATOS so you are probably not entitled to the duty you picked in the 'auction' two years ago but never got on.
It is often in the DOM's interest for repicks to keep being abandoned, restarted and never completed as then nobody has a clearly defined duty and everyone is more easily moved onto whatever work suits the DOM.

Most 318s have a bit that reads something like "or as directed" so they can move anyone onto whatever work anyway provided they're trained for it and there's no medical reasons

I've never seen a '318' but I don't doubt that.

Mine would be cheap as chips.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
