I had my knees done a couple of years back. anyways, its looking more and more that i'll have to come off deliveries, as im struggling on the streets as our rounds are just short of 5 hrs long. its slowly taking its toll and the surgeon who did the job on me says they are only designed for 10 to 12 yrs ''normal'' use. walking round hills and gradients and up and down stairs is not within the design limits. so, ive been in to see the dom, and im being re-assessed by O.H.assist. ive told them im capable of doing a full days work I don't have a problem with that. latetly they've had me prepping two duties in the morning then a couple of streets and some kill offs to get my full day in. but the full delivery is a no go. if they cant find me another job (mail centre) or other, will it be ihr,,,or evr. rep is off.

Full time in any MC is virtually a non-starter, locally I don't think anyone has been taken on as a full timer for at least 5 years

a lad who had a stroke at our office, was off for a year then came back...was on light duties for months couldn't do his delivery anymore, then they sent him down the mail centre in march. he,s on full time nightshift in distribution. mon to fri......doing some overtime as well.

Someone being taken on as a FT and moving a FT due to Equality are completely different. I'd be surprised if RM could argue (and get away with it) they couldn't accommodate moving a FT from DO to MC.

there may be a chance of 2 til 10 at the mail centre, the branch rep says its about 40 quid a week shift allowance, ?? but I would imagine I will obviously lose the 21 quid delivery supplement.....is there any one from mail centre who works 2 til 10 can clarify what the take home is for a flat week.

The take home pay for a flat late (2 till 10) is Basic £394.76 + late allowance £42.42 + Processing supplement £8.90. + OT if you want it.
