break entitlement

Post by joemck »

Hey.I'm looking for a bit of help regarding break entitlement as there seems to be a lot of disagreement about my working hours /break entitlement .I am contracted to a Saturday 10 hour shift doing collections for a few hours and then delivering mail to a mail centre two hours away .some days the manager puts me on a town walk delivering post solidly .this means I have to come in early thus making my day 11 hours .basically I have got two questions .first question ,is he allowed to make me do an eight mile town walk before I have to drive 2 hours down the road and back and the second is what breaks am I entitled to in both situations.

Cheers

Questions 1 - Short answer yes (if your were driving a vehicle that required a tachograph then that would complicate things but if its just a van then he can)

Question 2
attendance between 9hrs and 10hr 59min - 50 Min total
attendance between 11hrs and 12hr 59min - 60 Min total

Also you don't have to come in an hour early to do a delivery, just come in at your normal time.
