Just checked it out, last in first out is illegal way to make redundancies, it comes under "Age Discrimation".

If they go for early voluntary retirement, they normally give that to those who are over 50 and/or nearing 60, isnt that discrimatory towards people who are less than 50? The reason i ask is coz im below 50 and want evr lol

Your right of course, they have a choice. I personally believe that redundancies will work something like, they will identify where they need to reduce their head counts, put out a preference for anyone wanting to leave, and give those who do, the option to go........all dependent on terms of course!!!

Interesting this one because I don`t see how it can come under age discrimination. There`s people that have joined in the last 3 years at my place aged 50+.

They say the same about seniority. We've got lads in their early thirties with 15 years in and lads in their forties with four or five. It's something which needs clarifying.
