15 Minutes Sorting Scrapped

Post by oxboy »

We have always been allowed to do 15 minutes as per agreement I guess but since the IA we have to start at 6 now and we dont get our fifteen minutes sorting time in the morning.
Its straight on the sorting is this right though as we are at Oxford they seem to be able to do what they want anyway with impunity.
Anyone else experiencing this.

 Everything they throw at us .. can be converted into a weapopn .. against them! Try a 'disag' & apply for 'status quo' .. if ignored .. do the job even more diligently & properly!

We have 15 mins prep then 30 mins ips, 15 mins prep then back on ips for approx 30-45mins then prep again, They do this so it keeps the ips frames down and most people are 1-5 mins late in the morning so this affects your prep and not the ips

We have 15 minutes prep and then on to the IPS for 50 minutes although today they kept us on there for 1 hour and 15 minutes, saying there was no D2D's or work time learning.

We had cut offs galore today and the screws tried their usual you are not working fast enough crap but undeterred we brought back the work.

whats this 15mins prep you are talking about?
we have always gone on the ips till that is cleared (1-1/2 2hrs) then on to your own delivery prep

Trouble is at the moment due to later starts there's no 318. My advice is to Stay on IPS (unless the screw tells you otherwise), prep all your work in, tell the gaffer you can't work over and let him sort it out. Just keep cutting off.

This morning we sort then prep as normal.
If I'm not ready to bundle by 7.55 I asked my manager what he wants me to do.
i.e continue prep or bundle.

I tell him if I don't bundle now I will not be able to complete my duty.
I don't usally do overtime and will not be bullied into it.
All this week he's said bundle.

Hasn't been removed from our office yet, just shunted forward 15 mins. The reason for the 15mins sorting was to go through the pink intra bundles for missorts for the missort run ('flick checking' (oo-er!) if unable to sort all pinks). As this now leaves later as well, there is no reason to scrap it here.
Maybe your arguement should involve the delay of missorts...

if this 15min thing is the norm across the country as it seems to be by the postings here, how come we dont get it at our office then? ive been there 10+ yrs and the only ones that get bench time are the ones who go in early to chuck in there mech (thicko's)and the ones whos duties are so big that they need to prep all morning to stand any chance of finishing the delivery on time!!!
