Only in the world of business is misplacing or losing an item regarded as some sort of crime that has to explained. Losing/misplacing/ items or having a nightmare day where everything you touch seems to turn to s**t are part and parcel of human activity. It is inevitable that someone somewhere will lose a PDA .The fact that you can lose your job for being human says everything about the society we live in. Business first/human second.

It's a nightmare,my dad's in hospital he had a stroke last weekend and my heads been all over the shop more worry,couldn't even speak to my manager as he was gone before we finished.

Fully understandable. I'm sure if you've got a decent rep and the mangers not one of the many socio paths in Royal mail then your jobs safe but they may put you on a years suspension-two years at the most as for some reason they think some punishment is required and it will focus your mind never to do it again etc.

I wonder if they would discipline someone for losing their trolley? Plenty of vans now without trolleys, and they're not in the office/yard? Is there a market for them?

Ive been told Tipton DO had most of their trolleys turn up at a scrap yard, don't know how true it is

Well our office had 30 odd of ours `stolen` so another office could use them :roll: ...but then again it's alright as nowbody uses the feckers here anyway. :cuppa

Not a good reaction from the job and finish brigade and I dont know if management are enforcing them although the CWU rep is telling the members that they must be used which is a surprise i also think it is a phased return of the trolleys to ensure there is not another 2010 style debacle
