Hi been trying to find the answer to this question but have had no luck so far, hoping someone can help me on here. As a Union member I am going on a career break for a year, so does my membership still remain for the period that I am away from work and resume as normal when back from my break, and do I have to pay any subs for the period that I am away from work?

I would imagine you are only regarded as a Union member as long as you keep paying your weekly subs.

Really? that concerns me a bit as I want a job to come back to, and was hoping union membership would ensure I don't get shafted when I return....

Can you not set up a D/D and pay a reduced fee while your away from RM. I'm not 100% sure but i think you can.
