Mediation process

Post by music4essex »

Has anyone been through this process yet, Got my mediation day tomorrow,

This has come about from me taking my B/H up to headquarters , Not sure they think mediation will work though, as to little to late :silenced , but just another stepping stone

I agreed reluctantly, Just wanted to see how they go about it, felt like if i did not agree to it then RM can so i am being stubborn , For the last 3 weeks that i have known about it , its bought back up all the old anxietys and sleepless nights ,

I had been in a good frame of mind since the dom in question has not been the dom in my office for a few months

I really do not see how it would help for future , :shhhhh

I wish you all the best but remember the complaint is yours and only you can say if you are satisfied with any resolution, when RM want to use this policy to conduct staff they rely heavily on Perception in fact they ignore almost everything else and concentrate on the perception of the complainant, so try and be strong and stick to what you felt like at the time and how it made you feel and remember you can call a halt at any time and confer with your rep and decide if you want to skip mediation and go to formal.

Thanks Spillie, Was not allowed to have rep present ,

Well without going into details , my case was one of ten that was to go through this process , waste of time , and the bombshell at the end was that RM had said I had no B/H case to answer , I would not have entered the process if I had known this , but was not told until the end of the meeting when the manager disclosed it WTF, No confidence whatsoever in any B/H Process that is flawed , The manager apart from that just lied and used the remit it was procedure all the time , nothing i did not know already

Not allowed a rep present! :nervous

If this is the way forward the CWU needs to address this issue immediately...

But mediation must mean that there is more than one mediator present, one that is representative from CWU and one from Company perspective, so although I would feel more comfortable with an independent support person in the interview, I can understand whether this is necessary or not.

Has an LTB been issued regarding the mediation process? Outlining who is involved and what the role of all parties is?

Not really surprised as the case I have been dealing with has lasted now for over 12 months and keeps getting delayed by corrupt management, they are trying their best to sweep things under the carpet,I have been involved in mediation in a different role outside of RM and it was a good process but then they did use an outside team and not some feckwit former appeals manager or corrupt lazy cwu stooge.

I personally can't wait for golden time.
I always missed out on that at school.
I would expect the same old faces to apply for the roles of internal mediators, after all they have the "experience" even if it was of a failed, corrupt and biased system.

I'm sure there will be a hefty salary, lashings of ginger beer and sandwiches and a tasty expense account for overnighters and long lunches all provided by RM of course...so in all honesty what can possibly go wrong with the whole independent/impartiality thing?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

TBT - I've seen that particular LTB regarding the recruitment of mediators and was under the impression that the process related to (or in replace of) the IR framework. Mediation in B & H cases where individuals are involved is new to me and possibly without agreement? :hmmmm

No they have had mediation in the B& H cases before, but it was only if ALL parties agreed to take part in it, and was called something like restoring relationships or something equally as banal and patronising. :d'oh!
