off sick

hi all ive been off sick now for 2 weeks and ive been signed off for 2 months with arthritis asked my manager when my atos appointment would be and he said i will get it but appointments at min are limited seems a bit odd just wanted to know if this was correct if anyone knows and everyone thinks a 2 month sick note is a bit long

If your GP believes that you need 2 months off that may be to give time for any medication to start to work.

yeah just the my dom wasnt very happy when handed him the sick note plus fact i used to cut off every day you know the drill

Your GP on examining your medical condition feels that at present subject to a further examination has issued you with a medical certificate for 2 months stating that you are unfit to carry out your duties at RM. RM considers period of absence over 14 days as long term sick and therefore a referral to ATOS by RM to attempt you to return to work before the 2 month period by offering you light duties, change of duty which would be on their recommendation supplied to RM. If there is a delay to the ATOS referral then that is not your problem. I very much doubt if RM can find a suitable duty for you having been diagnosed with arthritis. RM will ask you to attend for interviews while off so make sure you comply with their instructions at all times and don't be pressurised into returning to work. Your medical certificate is a legal document.

why did atos not offer you physio treatment they usually do. very surprised they didn't as they are supposed to be there to help you.

why did atos not offer you physio treatment they usually do. very surprised they didn't as they are supposed to be there to help you.

They did they said would be quicker to ask my manager but she said she would put it on her report

just a quick question
what happens if physio no good do they referrer me back to ATOS/OH as she did mention that a transfer to mail centre is a possibility as there is one 4 miles away and she did say i was covered under the equality act i was thinking cos my dim is not very nice can he iggnore that or just blag saying nothing there and then try and go down the other route
