Let me guess your a new rep,full of fire and pep. That will soon be drilled out of you when you get no support from further up the food chain.
Firstly why are you bothered if they do Work Time Lying or not ,I'm sure your members would sooner be out 30 minutes earlier rather than listening to the latest bullshit from management.
And secondly how can you expect Royal Fail to pay you 30 minutes when said members are heading out the door(usually on a Tuesday when it's not busy)and then coming back an hour or two early?
Thirdly you do know that management do not know what the meaning of mandatory is,just ask the hundreds of offices where the trolleys are not being used.

Hmm? Thirty Minutes a week for the past 3 years = 78 hours owing @ say £10 an hour. Better than the back dated payrise.

Neither.
If management are away at, for instance an area meeting, then a cancelled WTLL session is hardly the end of the world.
However, it may be possible to argue for it to be rearranged for a different day that week. Meetings like this are rarely hastily arranged.

There is no such thing as a manager being too busy for a WTLL session (in more ways than one).

The issue should be raised locally, then at Area level if necessary, and beyond.

It would also depend on how occasionally they are cancelled. If they do a WTLL session 9 times out of 10, I think it's harsh to kick off at all.
If it's considerably less, then pursue the issue.
