Pay Protection

Post by karmacoma »

I posted this query on the wrong message board. Apologies.
HR are stating that they do not go back & re-assess pay protection claims following belated pay awards. In reality this means that anybody receiving pay protection since 1st April 2013 is being paid using their allowances without the 3% backdated increase being applied. Does anybody know if this is correct?
Any comments particularly from union reps would be appreciated. Thanks.

I stand by the reply I gave to your original posting " pay protection" is exactly what it means. If you have been displaced from your original duty by business driven change and in effect become a surplus employee you will then come under the umbrella of the MTSF ( Managing the Surplus Framework ) 2010 and the policy and procedures incorporated. Had you not been displaced then your pay would have been subject to the 3% increase inclusive of allowances back dated to the 1st April 2013. This would now have to be protected under the sliding scale dependant how long you were in your original duty before displacement up to a maximum of 3 years. Fail to understand why HR is adamant that the do not back date pay in this category and if you are a union member then you need to make your union rep aware of your circumstances and for him/her to make enquiries on your behalf. As already mentioned this is a new one on me.
