Split shift payments

I am currently on a 32 hour contract. Our revision is finally coming in within the next few weeks. My DOM is making my hours up to 39 with 2 SA's. This will not be SA rate just part of my hours. There will be one spare SA which I will probably do.
My delivery hours will finish at 14:30. I will then start my collection at least twice a week at 15:15 to 18:15. Another postie said I might be entitled to a split shift payment. Does anyone know anything about this? And your opinion on me taking on 2 SA's within my contract as part of my 39 hours. I was just thinking about my pension, pro rata payments and holiday pay. Would prefer delivery hours, but we just haven't got them. Cheers

Are the 2 SA been listed for others to sign or have they remained vacant as nobody wants them. If the SA have not been advertised for signing then your DOM would need to clear his action with union rep before incorporating SA hours into standard rate. As far as shift payments are concerned I thought they were a thing of the past but maybe someone can correct me.

Yes nobody wants them, so the only way I ca get full time is to take them on in my hours. We could leave them as SA's but I'm after full time hours.

Can you not start 45 minutes later in the morning? would fill that gap and get rid of you hanging round after work to start work again

Don't think split shift allowance still exists, willing to be corrected on that.

I take my break within delivery hours, I don't have a problem in doing what I'm doing just trying to find out whether I'm entitled to this so called "split shift payment ".
