just seen this ltb from dave ward,,,,royal mail say ''due to the considerably extended payroll processing required to implement the back dated pay, there may have been some errors resulting in over/under payments being made to individuals. any errors will be corrected next week''....... i think it applies mainly to staff who have done a lot of overtime though. not me im happy to say.!!

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PAY AWARD AND BACKPAY

We have been advised by Royal Mail that due to the considerably extended payroll processing required to implement the backdated pay award, there may have been errors resulting in some under/over payments for some individuals. The complexity of the payroll processing may have also delayed some back pay on overtime payments.

The company has advised us that they are working hard to address these issues and are seeking to correct any errors next week.

Any enquiries on the above should be addressed to the DGS (P) Department.

Will the Union be insisting that the overpayment agreement be honoured.

No the CWU will not be asking for it to be ignored. In the same way we ask Royal Mail to make good any underpayments , we have to be responsible with overpayments. There is an overpayment procedure which can take place if someone has problems and there is an helpline. However there are legal rights for both the company and the individual regarding overpayment and underpayment.
