Indoor methods of preping MET & IPS
Hi I have tried to open the files on the CWU site but am unable to open the ones that i need. I need to know the Prep of MET & IPS D2D for frames for P/T workers under new revision. thanks

All duties to be performed are as directed by management irrespective of FT,PT floater, walk holder, newbie or most senior.
The way to practically work it out is to work backwards from the finishing time i.e delivery span, break, travel out/back & pouch off,
if not included in delivery span, tie down, re directions, work time learning, vehicle check, queuing for keys pda's & specials if driver.
Whatever is left can be spent prepping in order sequenced, ips & d2d's last.
I know it doesn't work does it.

Im P/T and have to come into a empty frame no MET sorted in, No IPS is collected for the frame. So i go in at 7.50 and have to start fresh. When others get 1hr. 30 minutes O/T to throw the walk out... I was wondering where i stood.

All 30 hour part timers have no pre-arrival prep done, except for the single P&L pairing.
Our 25 hour singletons have letters and flats and 1st wave of mech prepped.

Nothing focuses a manager's mind more than a bag or two of mail and nobody to deliver it.
If you just get on with it they'll just continue to let you get on with it.

The other thing that will help is to specify how many hours you are contracted to do or how many hours you do: there are a variety of P/T contracts out there...
30 hours in a P&L with about 4 hours delivery might struggle to prep the lot esp on busy days, but somewhere around 32-35 hours might be expected to prep everything without help...
As it has been said, you can only do what you can do within the time you are contracted and it will also help to know what others in your position are doing.

My contratct is 32 hours. It is now a singleton frame. Im just covering for 1 weeks holiday. The duty holder also is 32hrs, but gets an extra 1hr 30 to go in early to throw the frame out, also the other 2 people who generally cover the round gets 1hr 30. I cant ask others as Im the only one that does this. I have no portering either. This is why I wanted to know in the indoor working agreed method. Thanks
