Part timer doing a full timers duty

I wouldn't have thought that o/t would have kicked in until you have completed 40 hours.

No I have not been asked to come in early and as a newbie I don't understand what you mean by throwing the walk in

She means preparing the walk for delivery. Putting the mail in the frame.

I am a part timer on 30 hour contract and sometimes cover full time duties. You'll get overtime for the extra time it takes (however much is built into the duty), in my case it is 1hr30 min extra per day. If you dont want to go over your normal contracted hours then you are perfectly entitled to cut off.

I am on a 30 hour pat time.I do full time duties often.My contract is 8.30-2.30 so if i come in at 7.00 i claim 7-8.30 and then anything after 2.30 i claim too.Just do not forget to fill in the overtime form every day.

The Agenda for Growth booklet which was sent to us in January states - "Part time employees also have the opportunity to increase their contractual hours to reflect the actual hours they have worked on average over the previous 6 month period."
You could find this useful in getting your hours increased on a more permanent basis.
