summer holiday allocation

Post by petrie3006 »

hi as a parent i just wanted to find out if royal mail have a family friendly policy regarding the allocation of summer holidays?.Have been a postie for 12 years and have never had a decent 1 so far..... yet now they are talking about bringing in seniority to our office, so that ll mean bottom of the list again until it cycles round to my turn to pick in 4 or 5 years :)

As far as I know there in no FF in regard to leave allocation/selection - everyone should be treated equally regardless of seniority.

State that seniority should NOT be used for allocating annual leave.
To be honest i'm surprised so many offices have got away with it for so long.
That said neither is a first come, first served system fair and i wouldn't be having that either so use the disagreement process by all means but don't cite seniority because that won't cut it.
