long term sick

Just wondering where someone stands on long term sick.
My brother has a heart attack whiles at work 6 weeks ago, has now been signed off for another 8 weeks while he starts rehab.
Our DOM has been on the phone a few times asking him to come in for a "chat" with our unit rep in attendance.
Does he have to go ? He and I have kept the management up to date to his progress and ATOS have recommended up to 12 week to recover.
He wants to get out delivering again, but knows it will take time to recover.
Given the situation of a heart condition surely he could do with out any extra stress

No he doesn't have to go in. The only thing that counts is medical advise here and they will say what he can and can't do .If the DOMS that insistent and it's OK WITH YOU he can do a house visit but only to discuss how ill you are and nothing work related or you want the union there to .Or another way is to have friends drop bye while he's there by accident hopefully you know one with a savage dog.

slight correction - I would always ask for a rep when doing a house visit.
