As I've said before, I'm here for the local reps, nationally they can go f**k themselves but locally they provide enough support for me to stay in.

I think the £100+ I give to cwu could be better spent but I suppose throughout the year they save a lot of our people elsewhere who have been threatened by RM bosses and saved their livelihoods.

We may need them one day personally.

I bailed out a few years ago after them having us over.
Not surprised one bit at how this has played out. Just glad I'm not paying the union brass any of my hard earned, better in my kids bank accounts.

I said no, we still need some sort of union representative, but I think we should be pushing for the top jollies to quit and re-elect members who have got bottle and call strikes if necessary.

If and I say If this deal turns out to be a stitch up like the last one there is urgent need for a vote of no confidence in the leadership before the union implodes. For the record I have never had much faith in Ward or Hayes and nor Alan Johnson before them.

Having said that I have been in the company of some divisional reps who have really impressed me and have my total respect. There is enough talent in and among the ranks of this union to elect a strong and decisive leadership.

What did the romans ever do for us eh?

They are still negotiating, however frustrating it maybe. Nothing is lost yet..a true hardcore unionist wouldn't "come out of a union" just because there hasn't been a strike..what makes people think going out will actually win this battle? Didn't this happen in 1971? How many here would hold the line for those 6 weeks or so like those guys did?
