Why is there a closed offer on pay but we are given snippets of info on other issues relating to this dispute?
Have Royal Mail & PEC got something to hide?
What will be in the small print of the agreement that they have yet to tell us?
My money is on a good/reasonable pay offer but the devil will be in the detail, open to misinterpretation and abuse.
There will be losers here and as usual its likely to mainly affect delivery staff.
Maybe later start/finish times, Sunday deliveries, longer delivery spans, more part-time staff less full-time.
Maybe removal of trolleys putting more weight on your backs, and expect you to force march around your delivery.
Even more D2D's to prep & deliver?? (apparently it only takes us 8 mins to prep them)
Will the agreement have changes which mean we must complete our unmanageable workloads and not cut off.
Remember what ever agreement is made there will be a price to pay.
No such thing as a free lunch and we will pay for it.
ANNOUNCEMENT : ALL OF ROYAL MAIL'S EMPLOYMENT POLICIES (AGREEMENTS) AT A GLANCE (Updated 2021)... HERE

Re: CLOSED OFFER
I deleted it - there was 2 - sometimes it can be caused by a slow browser response when someone re-double clicks submit. In fact I deleted in on Android on the way home.Postaltony wrote:Where else is it posted? I only typed this one this afternoon!

Re: CLOSED OFFER
The Original Pay Offer is below:

http://www.myroyalmail.com/news/nationa ... our-unions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Note: the £300 lump sum bonus was real and it was part of the pay deal; according to RM it would have taken the average of 3 years to 3.7% increase.
Whilst I agree that a pay rate rise is better than a lump sum, I am beginning to have my doubts.
I am now of the mind that I will rather take money off Royal Mail upfront than wait for the same amount or just a bit more to be paid to me over 3 years, who knows what is to happen down the line?
If as assume the extra increase is going to be 0.5%, the basic pay is just shy of £20,000 so anyone working basic hours will not get an increase. And the 3 years average comes to 3.37%
Also, those that might gain through OT/SA will have to do a substantial number of hours to be a lot lot better off - I know some part-timers will gain out of this and people on at least 2 or 3 SA a week will also gain.
The most crucial part of the deal is the back pay: in the original offer which I have in one of the Couriers (What Privatisation will mean for you), RM promised a back pay from April 2013. If that back pay do not materialised then we would have actually engineered ourselves a decrease from the original pay offer.
It is something for people to think about.
Lastly, from a selfish point of view, anyone not intending to stick around with RM for the next 3 years will lose out on taking an increased pay rate than a lump sum.
Oh, finally, years 2 and 3 is linked to inflation so we might even get less than promised. So if the inflation rate goes down, our increased rate might mean that our year 2 or 3 rate will decrease. Now I am really thinking the £300 Lump Sum upfront is looking a better deal.
