Colleague went sick

Didn't call in sick.

What are the consequences of this when called for fact finding?

Cheers

From a certain point of view it can depend on why they went sick.
If it were a cold then a b*ll*cking should suffice, unless they do this regularly. If this were the case then i would guess they are seeing what they can get away with.
However there are other events, which in my opinion, that need or demand a more sensitive approach and telling work you'll not be in is the last thing on your mind.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP

Failure to maintain contact
What happens if the employee does not make contact and is absent?

Where an employee is absent and has not made contact with the manager, the manager should attempt to contact the employee. This should include several attempts before recording the absence as unauthorised. If contact is still not made then the manager should record the employee’s absence as unauthorised via Managing My Team on PSP (enter/update absence). The manager will then be prompted to produce a No Contact Letter, which should be sent to the employee by Special Delivery and by First Class post. The manager should then follow
the process contained within the Unauthorised Absence Guide.
So did the manager follow procedure? :whistle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
