Miners Strike Film 1984-85 - "Still the Enemy Within"

The President, Jane Loftus, on behalf of the CWU NEC, has given assistance to the production of the Miners Strike Film - "Still the Enemy Within". The film is in its final stage and is due for completion in March 2014. 2014 is the 30th Anniversary of the Miners Strike and there will be a great deal of publicity and political analysis of this year long dispute. The "Still the Enemy Within" film will add to this debate and put on record ordinary miners accounts of the dispute and its aftermath.

The President spoke at the launch of the film trailer earlier this month at Somerset House. A £35,000 financial donation appeal was also launched so that the project can be completed. The CWU has sponsored the film from its inception and would like to continue this support and assist with the promotion and independent screening of the final film.

Branches are encouraged to support this campaign and wherever possible give financial and practical support so that the film can be produced and have the widest circulation possible during 2014.
