The Scottish government has allocated £9 million of grants while Treasury officials are involved in negotiating a £125million infrastructure loan to Ineos , making a total of £134million.

So who really has come out of this dispute with the upper hand, Ineos it seems

Look at this way

The Scottish parliament and the treasury have offered loans and grants. If unite were to continue their action and the plant remained closed with mass unemployment, the public would have crucified Unite.

Alec Salmond had already stated he would bring the plant into public ownership. There is more to this than people realise. Next year there is a real possibility Scotland will gain its independence and a source of revenue for the chancellor will be cut off by these Petro- chemical plants in Scotland. Scotland can lay claim to the north sea oil reserves as well.
