I had an accident today whilst out on collection which resulted in me spraining my ankle. my manager has said I should take tomorrow off I was wondering will I get paid for this I have been with royal mail almost 2 years or will it be unpaid leave. thanks

you will be paid, i would also advise reporting your accident to your office h+s rep and also to make sure that your manager fills in an erica report about it

manager took me to hospital I have taken pictures of the area as it was due to collection customers yard being like a damn obstacle course. if I don't go in tomorrow manager will ring me to go through an accident investigation form I think he said but I was worried about losing a days pay but if that isn't the case then I don't think I will be going in and will give my ankle the weekend to rest

Be careful they don't try blaming you. You've said the yard is like an obstacle course they'll say you shouldn't have gone in because it was unsafe.
